Thrive Talking Session – Exploring Built Environments and Our Mental Health

We’re delighted to announce the next instalment of our Thrive Talking series, taking place on Wednesday 14th August at 12:30pm.

Hosted by Garth MacAnally, Customer Success Manager at Life & Progress, this live online session will feature an inspiring and timely discussion with Anastasia Vinnikova, Suicide Prevention & Project Officer and award-winning mental health advocate.

Session Topic:

“The Interaction of the Built Environment – What Does That Have to Do with My Mental Health?”

Our surroundings play a bigger role in our mental health than many of us realise. This session will explore how the environments we live, work, and move through can influence our wellbeing — from urban design and public spaces to the workplace and beyond.

Our guest speaker Anastasia Vinnikova brings a wealth of experience and insight to this discussion. Currently the Suicide Prevention Officer at the City of London Corporation, Anastasia is a passionate advocate for mental health, informed by her own lived experience. Her career includes leading workplace wellbeing at the Bank of England, serving as Head of UK Programme at MindForward Alliance, and contributing to the Centre for Mental Health’s Commission for Equality in Mental Health.

She also lends her voice and expertise to several key mental health initiatives, including as a member of the Samaritans External Engagement and Research Committee, and as a Lived Experience Advisor on their Online Excellence Programme.

Why You Should Attend

This Thrive Talking session will provide:

  • A deep dive into how built environments affect mental wellbeing
  • First-hand insight from someone at the forefront of suicide prevention work
  • A thought-provoking discussion on how we can destigmatise suicide through awareness and inclusive design
  • Inspiration for how organisations and individuals can contribute to mentally healthier spaces

Whether you’re involved in employee wellbeing, workplace design, housing, urban development, or simply passionate about mental health, this is a session not to be missed.
