Life & Progress Chooses Safe Families

Life & Progress chooses Safe Families as our chosen charity for 2022!

Here at Life & Progress, we know how important it is to be supported as individuals, as we move forward through our lives and daily challenges. That is why Life & Progress chooses Safe Families as our chosen charity for 2022 , donating £1,500.00 to support Safe Families. This money will be used in helping children, young people and families with help and support where needed.

Safe Families works with over 35 local authorities around the UK, aiming to offer hope, belonging and support to children and families where possible. Safe Families was founded in the US in 2003, beginning in Chicago and now operating in 65 cities across 35 states. Safe Families was then brought over to the UK and has since had a registered impact on improving the lives of vulnerable families throughout the country.

“Safe Families works alongside families and children in times of need who are often facing life alone, this can be a scary place to be. Therefore, we offer support and hope to improve the lives of those in our communities because we believe everyone deserves to belong. We link children, young people and families with local volunteers who offer befriending and short-term hosting, walking alongside families and children in their time of need because we believe no one should feel alone.”

So far Safe Families is connecting 1,500+ families each year and benefiting 16,647 children. We’re happy to help in this mission where we can and we urge everyone to do the same, as no child should feel abandoned and every family should feel supported. If you want to help, Safe Families makes it easy to do so with volunteering options and ways to fundraise, even if it does mean walking a mile with jelly in your wellies!
